Sanford (Sandy) Knapp, a DMG consultant, is trained as a lawyer and has more than 20 years of business management, consulting and entrepreneurial experience.
While consulting, he has worked on more than 50 projects, and has successfully served clients from all parts of the globe, including the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, France, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom.
At DMG, Mr. Knapp has contributed to numerous distressed company engagements in the capacity of project lead, interim manager, board director and consultant; concentrating in the high technology and biotech industries; managing workout processes, formal Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs), and court managed bankruptcy proceedings.
Tasks have included company asset and intellectual property sales, balance sheet and financial restructuring, constituency (shareholder, creditor, customer and employee) management, transaction negotiations and documentation, communications management and support, bankruptcy process management, foreign subsidiary management and closure, litigation management and support, operations and human resources management, distressed financing support, as well as a variety of other fiduciary, legal, corporate and administrative functions.
Before joining DMG, Mr. Knapp performed an assortment of sales, marketing, domestic and international business development, licensing, research, recruiting, capital advisory, fundraising and strategy consulting activities with The York Group International, Double Impact Venture Catalyst, and eCubator.
Prior to that, Mr. Knapp was the Director of Operations, as well as a partner and manager of the Diversity product line at Microquest Corporation, a leading research organization and database publishing company tracking the high technology industry and Fortune 2000 companies.
In addition to his work with DMG, Mr. Knapp is also the founder and CEO of eCubator International, a business/product incubator and accelerator, and Monetizor Corporation, a firm that provides a niche consulting service for corporations and organizations, helping them locate and recover lost and escheated assets.
Mr. Knapp attended the University of Western Ontario (UWO) in Canada on an academic scholarship, where his undergraduate studies concentrated on finance and economics. He received his LLB degree (law) from UWO's School of Law, where he was granted the Fasken Campbell Godfrey award for achieving the highest standing in the class "International Business Transactions." He is a member of the bar of Ontario, Canada.
